A lot of my clients have been eager to take advantage of the hot market we have right now in Billings. One thing that’s holding some of them back is the uncertainty of how to get their homes ready to list. Here are a few tips that will help get your home ready to sell quickly in today’s market:
1. Declutter. Get rid of excess anywhere you can. This means excess furniture, appliances, clothes, and personal items. Pack them up, put them in a garage or separate storage unit, and just get them out of the house. It will make the house feel and look spacious.
2. Pre-inspection. A lot of times, people are unaware of the hidden repairs. I recommend hiring a home inspector to take a look at your house and give you a list of items that need to be repaired. This will give you peace of mind when a buyer comes along knowing that you have already addressed the things that their inspector will point out.
I recommend hiring a home inspector.
3. Make the repairs. Repair all of those items that you know need to be fixed. It could be something as simple as caulking, repainting, or replacing a chipped shingle. This will make your buyers feel confident when they see how well you’ve taken care of your home.
4. Make the house sparkle. A new piece of flooring or washing your windows can really make a difference on the first impression buyers get of your home.
